Oh, Beast is the brain child of Tongue Action’s Pablo Ono and producer Don “Demonboy” Cilurso and exists for no other reason than they wanted to fuck shit up. Written and recorded in 2014 Don and Pablo felt it was missing something so they went back into the studio and deconstructed the song down to just the basic drum tracks and Pablo’s and Brandon’s rhythm & lead guitar tracks. Once the perfect balance between those were found they both started reconstructing it, adding new bass lines, completely taking the intro out replacing it with actual recordings of wolves howling and running that through slight to mid overdrive, adding flourishes of tambourines / bells and even experimenting with synth bass, strings and lightly sprinkled effects throughout the song. At that point it was time to reevaluate the lyrics which at first were written as a satirical and humorous response to a certain circle of girl’s references to Pablo’s sexual prowess and well.... his “tongue action’. One thousand volts of lightning later “Oh, Beast” had become a monster. Part man, part wolf, part creature, part phantom, part robot, but all heart. They had ‘Frankensteined” a lost cause into the horror sounding song it is today. It’s that creative madness, experimenting unknowns, open-minded spirit and the willingness to do whatever it takes to best serve each and every song that still fuels Pablo, Don and the band we know as Tongue Action. Tongue Action constantly pushes the boundaries, breaking every rule that shouldn’t even exist and doing the complete opposite of whatever genre critics try to pin them as. They have a saying they pretty much live by.... ‘Playing Rock ‘n’ Roll is fun - Talking about it isn’t” - and it’s worked for them everyday.
